Face Masks are now optional, if you would prefer your physician and healthcare team members to wear a mask during your appointment, please ask at time of check in.  We strongly encourage our patients to continue to wear face masks while in our office.

***It will be mandatory for anyone experiencing upper respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion, fever, sneezing) to wear a mask. ***

NOTICE TO ALL CLINIC PATIENTS

  •  If you are experiencing any upper respiratory symptoms, change in smell/taste, and/or fever, please notify us ahead of time by phone. We will triage you over the phone and determine if it is necessary for you to come into the clinic, and if so, we can prepare our staff ahead of time with the necessary Personal Protective Equipment.  You may be asked to take a rapid home Covid test prior to booking or coming in for appointment.
  • As we respond to the increased number of upper respiratory illnesses, our After Hours appointments will be prioritized to these patients.

Physician Assistants (PA) are highly skilled health care professionals educated in the medical model who practice medicine.

PAs graduate from a Baccalaureate or Master’s Degree program that may be affiliated with a medical school. PAs practice medicine under the supervision of a licensed physician within a patient-centred health care team.

PAs can work in any clinic setting to extend physician services, complement existing services and aid in improving patient access to health care.

  • PAs conduct histories, physical examinations, order and interpret investigations, perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, diagnose and treat illnesses, and educate patients on treatment options and counsel on preventative health
  • PAs assist in surgery, prescribe medications, and perform procedures that fall within their scope of training and experience, as long as it falls within the scope of their supervising physician
  • A PA’s practice mirrors that of their supervising physician
  • PAs work to extend physician services and can work autonomously, but are not independent practitioners

Many places offer free rapid home test kits for Covid. You may also go to https://www.ontario.ca/assessment-centre-locations to find a Covid testing centre near you.
